The Mother of the Nation Pavilion… a new mamemo masterpiece

The impact of the UAE through the life, values and achievements of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, widow of The Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was recently created by mamemo into an unforgettable experience for thousands of visitors to The Pavilion, the iconic centerpiece of the very first Mother of the Nation Festival, held in Abu Dhabi from March 24-April 2, 2016.

As the focal point of the 10-day festival, The Pavilion was designed by Managing & Creative Director Sam Katiela to be a journey that started from the mashrabiya-inspired outer shell of the 30m x 40m structure.

Inside, the journey continued across 13 zones that informed people of the crucial role women have played throughout the UAE’s history:

• Gallery Tunnel featuring archival images of Emirati women more than half a century ago.
• Gallery on the Life of HH Sheikha Fatima.
• Around the world – a dramatic art installation of holographic globes highlighting HH Sheikha Fatima’s humanitarian efforts around the world.
• A specially designed trophy room, the “Honoured Achievements,” displaying various awards both received and given by HH Sheikha Fatima.
• Impact, a towering multimedia wall of 56 LED screens showing the wide reaching social, economic, and environmental impact of the Mother of the Nation.
• The Infinity, a uniquely programmed video sculpture made from ceiling mounted screens that created on infinity wall which was accompanied with the words of Emirati poet Aref Al Sheikh.
• The Value Tree, an interactive sculpture that created an overwhelming response as more than 7000 visitors wrote handwritten messages of values and inspiration drawn from the life of HH Sheikha Fatima.

For weeks, mamemo worked with The Crown Prince Court, the General Women’s Union, and the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority to produce content elements and translate them into an experience that can be shared by people of different ages and nationalities.

Aside from The Pavilion, mamemo also created a special Heritage Show, which presented traditional poetry and songs through multiple screens that made virtual performers come to life onstage.
